Today Melkos health took a turn for the worse while at practice.  His heart may have clots and surgery is almost 100% he was takin to Clay County Hosp. then after some time the plan was made to take him to Union in Terre Haute.  Lets keep his health and his family in our hearts and hope things work out for the best.  When we find out more posts will be made.

I am on the phone with Jackie (Melko's wife). She said Melko is starting to level out, and things are looking better, but they still need our prayers. These next 24 hours are the crucial ones, as long as he continues to level out, he will be okay.

has anyone heard anything new on melko's condition?  we're worried since we havent heard anything in a few days.  keep us posted. thnx

went to see Melco today and he is currently in guarded condition.  heart useage is at 35% and is better than when he went in.  some breathing on his own, is still on respirator and is still being kept sedated.  has shown marked improvement in the last 12 hours and hopes are up.  all are in our thoughts and prayers.

I have an update on Melko's condition.

His breathing rythems and heart rythems are doing better. However, there are some cmplications from the initial heart attack I have seen him, and he seems to be doing well despite these complications. He has his color back, and much of the swelling has gone down. Now we need to pray, keep him in our thooughts, whatever it is you do, about the complications. These are not rare complications, so the doctors DO know how to deal with them and have already started the treatments, its just going to take a fight from melko. We all know he can be as stubborn as a mule, so lets hope he stays that way!

He is breathing much better, heart is doing better--his heart is beating on propper rythem.

Melko's Health is not good. He is no longer breathing on his own. He has to have the machine. The family is being called in to discuss options. If you want to see Melko, I urge you to go as soon as possible, because this does not sound good.

We're gonna try and make it down there 2mrw after doug gets off work.  we've got space to take 2 ppl from greencastle if anyone wants to ride down there with us.  let me know

Draiden and I went down last night. Jackie says the complications are doing better, but they still need to get the breathing back on track. They wouldnt let anyone but family see him last night because of the complications. But Jackie would love to see you all.

Melko still has complications. However, ones seems to be keeping itself in check and the other they may be able to tackle with a procedure. The doctors feel there is a chance to help and speed up recovery with this procedure. Although, they will need to wait a couple of days to get some medicine out of Melko's system. They dont want to risk the medicine interfering with the procedure and producing yet another complication. Things sound like they are starting to get better. Lets keep praying, hoping, and thinking about Melko!

Holy crap, we have great news on Melko!!! Melko is breathing mostly on his own! He is up to 90-96%! He is fighting off the complications! He is not able to verbally talk because of the breathing tubes, but he is communicating! He is able to nod his head, raise his eyebrows, and bite down on tubes when nurses piss him off! (LOL, Melko still has to show that attitude of his). He is having the procedure done on Friday, which will help with the complications and he is doing great! Keep praying, wishing, hoping, and thinking Melko, its working!

                                                                                                               

yay now that he's somewat concious (cant spell today) we can go visit him,^_^ if i get a day off...hours came back all too fast and i guess will gets to start working up there with me soon...

As of last night, Melko's health started slipping backwards. The doctors are not sure why, maybe he had too much good stuff going on at once. Today, he is kind of back and forth. Keep thinking and praying for him. THere is still great hope, we just have to wait this out.

There was a procedure done yesterday morning to help Melko. As of now, is maintaining. He is not in good condition or bad condition. But rather maintaining a current condition that requires more focus from the doctors. THey are still woeking hard to send Melko home, so we need to keep thinking about him. If you get a chance to get to the hospital (Union Hospital in Terre Haute), Jackie would love to see you.

Melko is starting to really well. By July 4th, he should be starting to recover  in the way that we have been hoping for. DOctors are really hopeful at this point. Things seem to be getting better!

any word yet about when they'll be able to go home?

No word yet. They need to see how he does on the fourth. The last time he started to recover well, he slipped backwords. So they want to watch him before making an estimation on when he would go home. They need to make sure that Melko doesn't recover to fast, because it has proven to be too much for him when he does. So they are taking this slow. As soon as I know anything, I will post it here.

Does someone have his address?

Lupus and I went to see Melko and Jackie today. They plugged his trach and have started weeaning him off the drugs. He spoke for the first time today. He gave Lupus and I a hard time and was even joking a little. He is down to 1 or 2 medications onstead of 4 or 5 and his veins are better so he can have a regular IV again. They are having him do throat exercises and letting him have ice chips so that he can eventually eat some real food. He is still in isolation so unfortunately he doesn't really want any visitors. He doesn't want any of his friends/family getting sick. They are going to take his chest tube out tomorrow. If we hear anything more we will get it posted. Everything is starting to look up keep hoping and praying.

does any one kno when they are going to let melko have actual visitors?  we would like to see him b4 we leave.

I hope Melko's health is still on an uphill gain... I personally don't know Melko personally but my feelings and well wishes go out to him... As it sounded he needed all the well wishing he could get... Get well soon...

as of Fri. he was doing well he's taken a few steps with help from the bed to a chair he's talking. He's not able to eat solid foods yet, but they are talking about moving him.
