Squire of Dunland expectations

The knights council will be accepting applications for a realm squire soon. For those who have shown an interest here are some guidelines as what to expect from your experience if you become a squire to the realm. Sir Brogas is not held to this for his squire when he decides to take one and will have his own set of codes and conduct he will enforce.

Requirements and expectations of a squire of Dunland.

Any person wishing to squire themselves to the realm in a quest for knighthood must be a paid member of the realm in good standing with no written or verbal warnings issued by the High Council within the last six (6) months.

A detailed written account of their characters history, and future goals will be submitted to the Knights Council along with the what knighthood means to the character and the reason the character seeks knighthood.

They should expect a two (2) year or more time frame for their path to knighthood.

If the applicant has an alternate persona, it will be suppressed or not used during the squire period.

After being accepted as the realm squire the duties will include but not be limited to:

*Making a tabard to wear at all practices and events. Gray material with a black Jackal on the front.

*Keeping a journal of their thoughts and experiences to be turned over to the Knight Council any time it is requested. The journal will be supplied by the council to the new squire.

*Will be expected to volunteer their services at practices and events they attend as a herald, weapon checker, armor checker, or in any other capacity.

*Will be expected to make one passable weapon, piece of armor and shield during their squirehood.

*Will be expected to hold two (2) workshops a year during their time as a squire. These can be on Garb making,weapon/shield making, or armor smithing.

* Will be expected to pass a written test to prove they are knowlegdeable with the rules of the game.

*A serious attempt should be made by them to seek out fighters from other realms to learn combat styles.

*They should demonstrate a desire to teach and mentor young members in the ways of the sport

*A serious attempt to master all weapon styles with testing to prove they are at least proficient with the weapons.

* A squire will be expected to act with honor on the battlefield and always attempt to keep his/her temper in check. The squire will always live by the "Hit hard take light" philosphy. A squire will always attempt to alert a foe before attacking from behind.

* A squire will always show up to practices and events with clean armor and garb.

* A squire will be expected to attend at least one event a year with over one hundred (100)  fighters in attendance.
